About the role

Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Surgeon to help train AI models. You’ll give the models hard surgical and perioperative problems, check their reasoning, and show exactly where they fall short of a practicing clinician.

This is a new area for our company: teaching AI to reason about surgical and perioperative care the way the team in the operating room does, from indications and workup through anesthesia, the procedure itself, and recovery. Your clinical judgment becomes the signal that shapes the next generation of medical AI.

What you’ll actually do

  • Pose diverse, complex surgical and perioperative problems to AI models and evaluate their answers.
  • Rate model output for correctness, completeness, and safety against the current standard of care.
  • Flag inaccuracies, from a missed contraindication to a wrong operative step.
  • Write the correct answer when the model falls short, with a clear rationale.

Roles this fits

Common backgrounds: Surgeon, General Surgeon, Orthopedic Surgeon.

What we look for

  • Board certification in surgery with at least 3 years of post-residency experience, or a current license to practice clinically in surgery (for example RN, NP, PA, or CRNA).
  • Relevant backgrounds include surgeons of all specialties, anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists, perioperative and operating room nurses, and advanced practice clinicians practicing in surgery.
  • Fluency in English (native or bilingual level).
  • Clear, well-organized writing, and the ability to say why an answer is wrong, not only that it is.
  • Only applicants based in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States will be considered for this role.

Compensation

Up to $125+/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $100k–$200k a year; some make it their full-time income.
