Getting started
Get Paid to Train AI
You get paid to train AI by rating and correcting AI answers, labeling data, recording audio, or checking a model's work in a field you know, as remote contract work. 4,380 paid roles are open today on 62 platforms, paying a typical $30–$125/hr (median $40/hr). Here is what each kind of work pays, which platforms are legit, and how to start, with or without experience.
What it pays by kind of work
Typical pay is the 25th percentile of what roles pay (the middle of each advertised range) to the 90th-percentile advertised ceiling, measured from the rates advertised in today's open roles wherever at least 3 are stated, and compiled from platform data otherwise.
Is getting paid to train AI legit?
Yes, and here is why you can trust that. The companies hiring for this work (the ones behind 4,380 open roles today) are real, operating businesses that pay contractors to make AI better. We do not list scams or reward-for-signup schemes. Every pay figure on this site is measured from the rates advertised in each platform's live job feed, which we re-read every hour, so what you see is the market as it is right now, not a number we made up. The honest caveats matter too: this is contract work, hours can be irregular, and an advertised hourly rate is not a guaranteed weekly wage. Each platform page spells out what it pays, how it pays, and what workers say.
Can you get paid to train AI with no experience?
Yes, in the roles whose title asks for no expert field, level or credential. At the end of 30 Oct 2026, 1,082 of the 4,379 open AI training roles (24.7%) were such roles, at a median advertised $25/hr. Most are language, audio, data labeling and AI rating work. They still ask for something: of the roles whose description states no degree or experience, 56.6% ask for a native or fluent language.
How to get paid to train AI, step by step
Pick work that fits you
No coding background? Start with the roles that ask for no experience: language, audio, data labeling and AI rating work. Have real expertise (a language, a STEM field, code, law, medicine)? The expert-evaluation work pays far more. Browse the kinds of work or read the beginner guides.
Choose a legit platform
Compare the platforms on pay, payout method, and what workers say, then apply to one or two that fit rather than signing up everywhere. See every platform.
Pass the assessment
Most platforms confirm your skills with a short screening or sample task before you get work, and expert networks such as Mercor and micro1 with an AI interview. Take it seriously: it decides whether you are accepted and, often, your rate. How AI interviews work.
Do the work and get paid
Once accepted, you pick up tasks and are paid as a contractor, usually via Stripe, Deel, PayPal, Wise, or Payoneer on a weekly or twice-monthly schedule. Each platform page lists its payout details.
What the data says about how AI training work is paid
The key findings of How AI Training Work Is Paid, our research over 3 Oct 2026 to 30 Oct 2026, rebuilt every day. Every figure opens the row it is read from.
- Of the 3,693 open AI training roles that quote a pay figure, 96.4% quote it by the hour; 50 per task, 25 as a fixed project price and 6 as an annual salary, and 52 give a figure with no unit.
- 99.9% of roles quoting a figure quote US dollars; the 5 others (CAD, EUR and INR) are quoted per year, hour and no unit.
- 51.3% of roles quoting a figure give a range, 26.5% a single figure and 19.7% only a ceiling ('up to').

- Only 6.7% of the 3,997 roles with a full description state a payout schedule (245 weekly), and 5.8% name a payout service: PayPal (138), Stripe (85), Bank transfer or direct deposit (7) and Payoneer (1).
- 5.1% of described roles say pay is per task or other output, and 135 of those also advertise an hourly rate.
- 3.8% of described roles mention a bonus or incentive, and 2.6% a paid assessment, pilot, interview or onboarding.
- The 48 roles quoting a per-task rate pay a median $65 a task ($0 to $1,500), mostly in Law, Medicine & Finance and Transcription, Audio & Speech.

Frequently asked questions
Can you really get paid to train AI?
Yes. Right now there are 4,380 open, paid AI-training roles across the 62 platforms hiring now, whose job feeds we pull live every hour. The work (rating model answers, labeling data, evaluating code, answering as a domain expert) is real contract work, and typical roles pay $30–$125/hr. Every platform we list is a real, operating company, and every pay figure here is measured from advertised rates in the live feed, not invented.
How much can you get paid to train AI?
It depends on the work and your background. Typical roles run $30–$125/hr. Entry-level data labeling and research surveys sit at the low end or below it, while coding, STEM, and domain-expert (law, medicine, finance) evaluation pay the most, up to about $450/hr for specialist experts. The pay table above shows the live band for each kind of work.
Do I need experience or a degree?
Not for every role. At the end of 30 Oct 2026, 1,082 of the 4,379 open AI training roles (24.7%) asked for no expert field, level or credential in their title. Language, audio, data labeling and AI rating work are the common entry points: AI training jobs with no experience lists every such role open today. Higher-paying work (coding and software evaluation, STEM and math, or expert evaluation in a professional field) expects real, verifiable expertise, and most platforms confirm it with a short assessment before you start.
How do you actually get paid?
You are paid as an independent contractor by the platform, not by us. Payout methods and cadence vary by platform: common options include Stripe, Deel, PayPal, Wise, and Payoneer, typically weekly or twice monthly. Each platform page lists that platform's payout method and schedule.
Is it worth it, and are these jobs legit?
The platforms are legitimate, and the pay is real, but read each platform's page before you apply: we show what it pays, how it pays, worker sentiment, and any honest catches (some work is irregular, and advertised rates are not a guaranteed weekly wage). Start with a platform whose pay and kind of work fit you rather than signing up everywhere.
