Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (English)

The work

You will label short, de-identified audio clips of children saying single words with S and Z sounds. You will use a rubric to classify each sound and flag recording quality.

You may also review word lists, practice tips, and product claims about lisp. You will not provide guidance about a specific child or contact families.

• Classify each S or Z sound as target-like, frontal (interdental), dentalized, lateral, palatal, or cannot tell.
• Add a recording-quality flag to each clip.
• Work in the secure web portal provided for the project.
• No recordings or files are exchanged on OpenTrain.
• Sign contributor, confidentiality, and data terms before hearing any recording.

What it pays and takes

This is remote, part-time contract work expected to last 3 to 6 months. Work comes in batches of clips, with each batch paid as a fixed-price milestone based on your hourly rate.

• Paid test and calibration: $15 per hour.
• Live labeling: $20 to $30 per hour, based on calibration results.
• Payment is made through OpenTrain after each batch is approved.
• Time requirement: less than 20 hours per week, with a few hours of work each week.
• Open worldwide to candidates who meet the professional requirements.
• Current license or registration on the official practice register in your country.
• Examples include ASHA CCC-SLP or a US state license, RCI in India, HCPC in the UK, SPA in Australia, or KHPOA in Kenya.
• Experience assessing children's speech sound disorders, ideally including lisps.
• Fluent English.
• Individual freelancers only; agencies are not eligible.

Before live labeling

The project begins with a short paid test using adult recordings only. You will then have a 30-minute call and complete a paid calibration round using a gold-standard set before receiving batches of live clips.
