About the role
About Fleet AI
Fleet AI builds training environments where AI agents practice real work and get graded on it. Our legal projects use realistic matters to test how well those agents research, reason, and back up their conclusions.
What you'll work on
Build legal tasks and reference materials used to train and evaluate AI. Each project sets the practice area, jurisdiction, outputs, and acceptance criteria up front. Depending on the project, you may produce:
- A legal assignment with a case file and supporting documents.
- A reference memo, brief, diligence report, or other work product that answers it.
- Grading criteria tied to the case file and the governing law.
- Reviews of AI-generated work that flag errors in reasoning, facts, citations, or conclusions.
Who we're looking for
- US legal practice as an attorney or senior paralegal, with substantive research, drafting, or document review. Bar admission is a plus, not a requirement.
- You can explain why a conclusion holds, where the evidence falls short, and why an error matters.
- Clear legal writing grounded in the facts and jurisdiction.
How it works
- Format: Remote contract, minimum 20 hours per week.
- Start: Work begins as soon as you're onboarded.
- Term: Ongoing, multi-phase program. Applications are open through March 1, 2027.
- Location: United States only. Fleet can't sponsor work authorization.
- Terms: Scope, deliverables, fees, and an end date are agreed in writing before work starts, and so are any extensions. A Fleet project contact answers scoping questions and reviews your deliverables.
Pay
- Rate: $150–$200 USD per hour.
- Raises and bonuses: Higher rates for consistently strong, high-volume work, and per-task bonuses for especially difficult, high-quality tasks.
- Tools: Reasonable AI tool subscriptions are reimbursed.
How to apply
- Apply with the form on this page.
- Complete a short, unpaid online assessment (up to 90 minutes) reviewing a legal task. Instructions are given before you start.
- Optional quick call if you have questions.
- Onboarding, then you start.
Referrals: $500 when someone you refer completes 40 hours of work.
Where you can work
This role is 100% remote, for applicants located in United States.
