About the Role

In this role, you will have 15-minute recorded conversations in Italian with another Italian speaker. Each conversation is unscripted and based on an everyday topic we give you.

For example, you might talk about

• Food
• Travel
• Music
• Family

There is no script and no acting. The focus is on having a clear, natural conversation from home: listening, responding, and building on each other's thoughts.

Every call needs two people online at the same time, so we match you with another speaker when you join. Calls happen at two set times every day: 12-1 PM and 8-9 PM Eastern Time. Join during those hours to get matched quickly.

This is a fully remote, freelance position. We are currently looking for people who live in the United States (except Texas, Washington, Illinois and Colorado), Canada (except Quebec), Mexico, Puerto Rico and other US territories, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam or Egypt.

Compensation

• $17.50 USD per recorded hour in the United States and Canada (rates in other countries may be lower)
• Additional performance-based incentives may be available

Responsibilities

• Join 15-minute recorded conversations with a matched Italian-speaking partner
• Talk naturally about the topic you're given
• Listen actively and respond with genuine interest
• Make sure your audio stays clear throughout each call

About You

• Native or fluent Italian, as spoken in Italy
• When the application asks which Italian you speak, choose Italy, even if you live elsewhere
• We check your pronunciation and fluency with a short recording
• Comfortable talking to new people
• Reliable and able to follow guidelines

Technical Requirements

• A computer or smartphone
• Stable internet connection capable of supporting smooth calls
• No VPN or proxy during calls
• Headphones or earphones recommended
• A quiet room for your calls

Additional Information

Rates are determined by the number of recorded hours and apply specifically to this project. If your application is accepted for a different Babel Audio project, the compensation rate may vary.
