Bhaskar H.Bengali language and AI annotation work·
India
Hi, I applied to SuperAnnotate (SME) through SME Careers. I would like to know how long it usually takes to receive a project after passing the AI interview. Are there any Bengali language or AI data annotation projects available for applicants from India? What is the actual hourly pay offered to beginners?

No fixed timeline. SuperAnnotate (SME) gives none. Grading takes 1 to 2 business days, then there is a profile review. After onboarding, a project invitation depends on client demand. On 11 Oct 2026, 132 of 264 open roles said there was no immediate project, and Reddit users report waiting from two months to much longer after signing the Deel contract. Passing the interview puts you in the pool. It does not guarantee work.
Bengali roles: SuperAnnotate has two open Bengali roles, an expert role (reviewing, rewriting and ranking AI Bengali text) and a team lead role. Nothing on our record rules out India, but each role states where it takes people from, so check that on the posting. Other platforms also have Bengali roles, shown below.
Beginner pay: SME's team sets your rate from your experience, skills, location and market rates, and you can't set it. "Up to $X/hr" is a ceiling, and most postings give no minimum. SME's broad band is $17–$115+/hr, but lower-cost regions pay far less. Reddit users report offers well below listings ($9 and $8 against $55 and $30 advertised), which we could not verify. The real rate appears on your project invitation, so read it before accepting.
